Recommended accessories might include a medium duty tripod, cable release (sometimes called a shutter button) for low light and night time photography. Metal tip manipulating tools are also recommended for more precise control of your images. You can use golf tees but because they are wood, they degrade over time and can cause unexpected and sometime damaging results.
We manufacture a great cable release for the SX-70.

The best choice for a tool to manipulate your images is one with a smooth, tiny, metal ball at the tip. It gives great control and unlike wooden tools, remains stable and predictable in it's results. Wooden tools such as golf tees and toothpicks, change with use and can become unpredictable, potentially causing damage to your prints not to mention pain to the fingers and hand.
We keep a supply of the same Pola-tools that Becky used should you need one They have two different size tips with a comfortable wooden handle. Using the best tool for the job not only makes it more comfortable for your hand but your work is more predictable as well.

Cable Release
for the SX-70

A cable release is an essential accessory for the Pola-Artist. Late in the day when light is slipping away, the SX-70 can drop to long shutter speeds. At night, shutter speeds can be many seconds long. Mounting the camera on a tripod and using a cable release provide for a stable camera and sharp images. Night time offers many colorful image making opportunities ranging from carnival rides to city street scenes and even fireworks.

Our cable release is longer than the original Polaroid release and uses heavier wire. It is also brightly colored at each end so if dropped outdoors at night, it can easily be seen.
